This weekend, Llanwrtyd Wells plays host to a rather unusual event. The World Mountain Bike Bog Snorkeling Championships sees a brave group of competitors cycling in a six foot deep trench filled with murky bog water.
Visibility is almost non-existent but the riders aim for a pole at the end of the trench, maneuver round it and cycle back to the start. The cyclists wear lead weight belts to avoid floating off the bike – wetsuits and flippers are optional.
If you’re in Wales and you fancy a muddy adventure, head on down and take a look. Send us your reviews and pictures of the event too.
