At your neck and call

21 October, 2011 ·

However much we try to ignore it, the fact that we can now see our breath every time we step outside the door is affirmation enough: it’s officially COLD. Nippy, chilly, brass monkeys…however you want to describe it, summer is officially over and we are very nearly on the run-up to Christmas.

What better way, then, to wrap up against the cold than with a versatile knitted accessory from Ted? Introducing the SKATKAT, which can be worn, unbuttoned, as a scarf or buttoned as a snood depending on your mood (or the temperature!).

The SKATKAT’s unique design and soft wool/cotton mix makes it incredibly cosy and the perfect accessory to any winter get-up. Don’t be left out in the cold: get your mittens on a SKATKAT before they all go!

Cable Guy

16 September, 2011 ·

Be wrapped up and ready for the approaching cold snap. If you only choose one piece to update your winter wardrobe this season, make it the cosy and fantastically versatile CORAM cable knit jumper.

Originating from the Aran Islands, cable knit jumpers were initially knitted by fisherman’s wives using unscoured wool which made the garments water-resistant and still wearable even when wet. Ted’s CORAM jumper is made with much softer marled yarns but preserves the original cable knit pattern which, legend has it, symbolises a fishwife’s wish for her husband’s safe and successful return from sea.

For those of you not heading out on the boat this season, team this adaptable knit with denim or coloured chinos; alternatively, layer up with a quilted jacket and chunky scarf for an easy and snug winter style that’ll bring your wardrobe bang up to date.

Mullit over

14 December, 2010 ·

‘Tis the season of goodwill toward men and that certainly includes you. Well our latest chunky cardigan, Mullit, has just arrived in store and online and is the ideal knit to stylishly see you though the rest of the season.

Its on trend shawl collar adds a modern twist to the classic cardigan, whilst the ribbed fabric adds texture to this timeless piece.

To stay even warmer, try it under one of our coats such as Bairad or Loman. Or when things eventually thaw out, it’ll look cool worn casually over a graphic tee. Mull it over by all means, but be quick, otherwise you’ll catch your death.

Take a walk

26 October, 2010 ·

Transcending fleeting trends, this knit goes back to basics. Luxurious fabric with a classic cut worn over shirts, tees or polos; you’ll wear this piece for years to come.
