The Great Christmas Pudding Race that took place on the weekend was full of festive fun and frolics. 17 teams competed to win the title, including an 81 year old racer! The action-packed (but very messy) race raised an amazing £220,000 for Cancer Research.
Ted’s little helpers successfully completed the race, and although just missed out on winning, had a fantastic day.
Have you heard of the Great Christmas Pudding Race? It’s an annual event that is taking place on the 3rd December 2011 in Covent Garden Market, London.
The event is organised by CRAC on behalf of Cancer Research UK and supported by Fox’s and Covent Garden Market and this year we have our very own Ted Baker team entering!
Teams of six, in fancy dress, have to negotiate their way round an obstacle course while carrying a Christmas pudding on a tray. To make things a little more exciting they have to dodge being squirted with foam – brilliant fun!! So if your near by come along and cheer the Ted Baker team on!
It’s a fantastic event so if your out and about in Covent Garden, come on down to support Cancer Research UK and Teds Little Helpers!
Christmas has come early. This weekend sees the opening of the ice rink at the Natural History Museum. This is the first of the ‘pop-up’ ice rinks in the capital, so get down there now to practise your technique in time for December.
If you prefer the après-ski, you can watch the skaters from the comfort of the overlooking café before taking a walk around the world famous museum.

Every Christmas day since 1864, the Serpentine Swimming Club have braved the icy waters of Hyde Park’s Serpentine lake for an unusual prize. The swimmers race for the Peter Pan Cup (as presented by the author J.M. Barrie in 1904) which is awarded to the first one over the 100 yard mark.
They’re not the only ones either. In Brighton, the members of Brighton’s Swimming Club go for a morning dip in the sea. It’s now turned into a big spectator event, with hundreds of visitors watching from the seafront each year. Maybe they’re just trying to avoid cooking the turkey?
There are plenty more where they come from too. Click here to see if there’s a swim near you.
