To celebrate the launch of Ted’s SS12 campaign The Great Exhibitionist and his Private Views, Ted’s collaborated with a host of acclaimed illustrators to create a digital fashion portrait service called Ted’s Drawing Room. Launching this Saturday 17 March, the initiative will see over 100 lucky customers receive a signed and framed, original, one-off portrait created by one of 11 top illustrators.
If you fancy one, pop into store*, try on pieces from the new collection and pose for a photo in one of Ted’s ‘Exhibitionist’ photo booths. An image of their Ted look will be taken using Instagram and the photograph will be automatically beamed straight into the artist’s studio, Ted’s Drawing Room, to potentially be re-created by one of the illustrators as an original piece of artwork.
Inside Ted’s Drawing Room 11 illustrators, will sit poised to re-create the images using a diverse range of media from traditional pencil and ink through to collage. As the photos appear in Ted’s Drawing Room the illustrators will ‘choose their muse’ and draw the looks that inspire them most. Ted will send those that have their portrait done a digital copy to share and show off and then a signed, framed original version soon after. All while being streamed live on Ted’s UK & US Facebook pages between 12pm – 8pm GST.
The illustrators involved range from the more fashion oriented Jacqueline Bissett and Niki Pilkington; to Michael Frith – one of the finest water colourists working today; right through to the lo-fi, quirky caricature of Harry Malt to the intense detail of Matthew Green. Output will be a mixture of accurate, fashion-led portrayals, beautifully showcasing Ted’s SS12 collections right through to completely comedic and abstract interpretations of the subjects dressed Ted to toe.

Jeans are like old friends. They’re always there for us, they’re a perfect fit, they’re reliable and we love them dearly. However, it can be difficult to give them up. We’ve all been there: having our favourite pair of Old Faithfuls (full of holes and missing one leg) prised from our hands by concerned friends and relatives and feeling the urge to weep as we see them stuffed into the rubbish bin. But fear not, denim lovers: Ted is here to make the separation process that bit less painful.

Ted’s denim selection is the best in the business and with cuts to fit and flatter everyone, he’s got all your jean needs sorted. Choose from classic, parallel or slim fit: whichever style to plump for, you’ll be striding with pride.
There’s nothing quite like discovering a hidden treasure to spice up your wardrobe. During one of his many trips around the world, Ted happened upon just that. Strolling through a Parisian flea market at dusk, he unearthed a reel of printed silk adorned with humming birds, exotic flowers and foliage. A print so exotic yet charmingly vintage, he bought out the entire supply.

Freshened up with a vibrant splash of colour, Ted’s brand new Parisian Birdie print is a shot of Spring to the system. What better way to kick off this unseasonably sunny weather than with a stunning maxi in dreamy, colourful silk? After all, there’s nothing like a little originality, and there’s no one as original as Ted.
What’s black, white and red-hot all over? Give up? It’s Ted’s fabulous selection of monochrome ensembles of course! Ted’s gone all classical and collected his favourite black & white creations to give your Spring/Summer wardrobe a lick of elegance.

Proving that Summer’s not all about head to toe bright colours (and that black and white’s not just for waitresses and penguins), Ted’s proud to present an array of slick pencil skirts, adorable LBDs and Francophile-pleasing monochrome-striped numbers. There’s little to rival the monochrome trend for versatility and sophistication so try a little black (and white!) magic for every occasion. Accessorise with a neutral clutch or a pair of colour-pop heels and you’ll be good to go.

Ted and Bluewater launched their ‘Print Genius’ collections earlier this week. Two competition winners from top design universities had their prints featured in Ted’s SS12 collections.

The menswear and womenswear pieces have been exclusively to Ted’s Bluewater store this week before being available everywhere else next week. To celebrate Ted hosted a launch event in his Bluewater store last night complete with drinks, refreshments and the Print Genius collections.
Congratulations again to Molly Pryke from London College of Fashion won the womenswear prize, for her ‘Reflective Bloom’ print and Talia James fromRavensbourne College of Art, Design and Communication, won the menswear prize for her Fox print.

Ted’s mouth-watering Sweet Shoppe popped up in Heathrow Terminal 5 yesterday and looks good enough to eat.
Having opened last year in Selfridges London, Birmingham, Manchester Exchange and Manchester Trafford, the Sweet Shoppe houses a range of brightly-coloured women’s accessories, merchandised in rows like in a traditional sweet shop.

Alongside the SS12 womenswear accessory pieces there are some exclusive pieces not available in store and there will be ‘maxi’ bags available for two weeks at the T5 Sweet Shoppe before available at any other Ted store.

The pop-up will be open until April, but if you’re not jetting off any time soon be sure to visit Ted’s Sweet Shoppes in the following locations:
Ted Baker concession, Selfridges London, 400 Oxford Street, W1A 1AB
Ted Baker concession, Selfridges Birmingham, The Bullring, B5 4BP

Ted’s full of bright ideas and his latest coloured denim collection is definitely one of his best. Chasing rainbows may seem like a far-fetched idea but Ted’s made it all possible with a stunning palette of coloured jeans to choose from. Demure fashionistas will plump for the sophisticated cobalt blue while girls with more than just a cheeky side will go crazy for Ted’s mouth-watering sunshine yellow.

All Ted’s jeans are skinny cut, for a sexy, flattering, comfortable fit, designed to make the very most of your figure, however you’re blessed. Wear with a colour-block top or one of Ted’s stunning printed scarves to create the perfect ensemble.

So what are you waiting for? Walk tall in bit of colour-pop denim today!
