We recently opened our second store in Australia, in the Chadstone Shopping Centre, Melbourne. The store has a Victorian banquet theme, inspired by Chadstone’s location in the state of Victoria and Ted Baker’s English, Victorian-era influences.
The store is filled with antique silverware and glassware and prints of gluttonous jellies and glorious cakes. Watching over is a portrait of Queen Victoria, crowned with a pineapple – Australia’s ‘sunshine fruit’ – to reference the historical import of the fruit by the Victorians.
For the opening weekend, traditional British Morris Dancers were in residence to entertain visitors and goody bags were given to the very first customers.
