Tie the knot

15 April, 2009 ·

Scarves are always a popular accessory for spring. With the weather constantly changing, a scarf provides another layer as well as a stylish update for your outfit. We’ve tried and tested different ways of wearing them so you can find the perfect style to suit your look.

French twist
Fold a thin scarf over itself until it forms a long, thin shape. Wrap it once around your neck and bring both ends back to the front. Tie a single knot to the side, and let the ends hang loose. This neckerchief look can be worn with both smart and casual outfits.

Knotted belt
Fold a long scarf into itself until it forms a thin length, as above. You can then tie this around your waist or through belt loops and voila! You have another belt for your wardrobe that goes with any casual look.

Neck wrap
Wrap a square scarf round your neck with the two ends and the point at the front. Tie a double knot over the point and leave the ends out. This looks casual and effortless – perfect for summer festivals.

Head wrap
Fold the scarf into itself to make a thin length. Wrap this around your head like a headband and tie it and the nape of your neck. This looks great for summer with a chic pair of sunglasses.

Casual ascot wrap
Wrap a square scarf round your neck with the two ends and the triangular point at the front. Tie a small knot at the centre. You can tuck the ends in or leave them out. This look is perfect for smarter occasions or workwear.
