Every year, the Greyhound pub in Tinsley Green, West Sussex stages the British and World Marbles Championship. The tournament attracts around 20 teams and has been played since 1932, although it’s suggested that the event dates back more than 200 years.
The game itself consists of 49 marbles placed in a ring. Players get a point for each marble their Tolley – a shooting marble – knocks out of the ring. This free event takes place today from 10:30am – 5pm.
For more details about the tournament or to join in next year, visit the British Marbles website.
