It’s Friday… and what better way to celebrate than by planning a ridiculously fun weekend. Here’s our pick of the most exciting events coming your way tomorrow.
If you’re a real foodie, you’ll love the Santa Cruz Clam Chowder cook off in the USA. Arrive early at Santa Cruz beach to see the 40 competing teams concocting their creations, which are available to taste from lunchtime onwards.
If you like the weird and the wonderful, try the Markina-Xemein Carnival in Spain. The animal-orientated day consists of traditional dances and parades. However the afternoon sees locals riding horses under a hanging (dead) goose, trying to pull off its head with one strong tug. Not for the faint-hearted.
Finally, for something more low-key, try the Fairtrade fortnight in London. This year’s free event gives you the chance to compete in sports day games, make a smoothie with your own pedal power, and learn a bit more about Fairtrade and the work they do.
