Moving Jim, our man who makes things move, can be seen here rollin’ with Tim Westwood. (Jim’s on the left.) Understand that. The reason? Well, it’s not a mutual love of music. Jim’s more of a rock man. What brought them together was a special project for Pimp my Ride. [Read more…]

Fair game?

27 November, 2008 ·

The online betting company, Betfair, has found an interesting way of advertising its football prediction game, Taikai. They created a goal celebration dance and sent every premier league footballer instructions on how to ‘Do the Taikai’.

Any footballer who performs the dance during a match will receive £10,000 from Betfair for a charity of their choice. Thus creating the first ever in-game advert. Rumours have circulated stating that clubs will fine any players that take part, for conflicting other advertisers’ messages. Now everyone is waiting to see who will be brave, or stupid, enough to go through with it.

Great idea or greed gone too far? Do you think PR, advertising and the money in football have changed the sport too much? Or it’s all just a bit of fun? Take a look at the Taikai video and tell us what you think.

Wacky Racers

27 November, 2008 ·

The panto season is upon us. Oh no it isn’t. Oh yes it is. Anyway, in celebration of this British tradition, the Thomas Vale Pantomime Horse Grand National sees hundreds of half-man-half-horses jumping fences in the charity race of a lifetime.

It takes place on 30th November in Birmingham and the council have transformed the city centre into a racecourse to host the event. The race starts at 3pm in Centenary Square, but arrive early for a good spot. This year, there’s also a children’s fancy dress race for 5-12 year olds. To see photos of the event from previous years, click here, or for more information visit Birmingham City Council’s website.

If you attend this year’s race, why not send us your pictures, videos or stories, straight from the horse’s mouth.

There’s only a few weeks until Christmas, so the race is on to find that perfect stocking filler. For the man who has everything, you can’t go wrong with a nice pair of warming winter socks. [Read more…]
